honoring and celebrating your loved one's unique life

Personalized Memorials, Funerals and Celebrations of Life

Reverend Sarah has been easing the burden of grieving individuals and families for over 20 years, working closely with them to create a service that will honor and celebrate their loved one’s life, and comfort those attending.

An essential part of the grieving and healing process is to gather with your family and friends to pay tribute to your loved one, and to support each other in your loss. This coming together can provide a sense of closure.

The task of planning a service to honor and celebrate your loved one can seem overwhelming. That daunting task can be eased by working with an experienced and knowledgeable officiant to plan, coordinate, and conduct the service.

As your memorial officiant, I will:

  • Talk with you about your loved one and the kind of service you want.
  • Write and share the story of your loved one’s life journey - who and what they loved, significant life events, interests, and how they will be remembered.
  • Suggest meaningful readings and rituals to include in the service.
  • Weave all elements together to create a personalized, heartfelt service that reflects your loved one’s unique life and personality, honors their wishes, and expresses your love.
  • Conduct the service in the style and location of your choosing, honoring your spiritual or secular traditions.

You may prefer a small, private service or a service for hundreds. Locations can vary from a private home, funeral home, memorial park, cemetery or columbarium, to a location with special meaning for you such as a restaurant, a beautiful outdoor setting or even a scattering at sea.

Rev. Sarah Hargrave’s grace and experience in developing a service for my beloved sister provided those saying goodbye a loving experience.  Her attention to detail and suggestions helped me to be focused and more at ease.  I really appreciated all the obvious thought she put into the service.

Many of those attending the service at the San Francisco Columbarium said the live performances of three songs Cathi had written touched them. They felt that the service was beautiful, heartwarming and that Cathi’s presence could be felt.
